of Communion is important and deserves our full attention.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div id=\"yiv0536040916yui_3_16_0_1_1424881859019_2783\" class=\"yiv0536040916\"><span id=\"yiv0536040916yui_3_16_0_1_1424881859019_2782\" class=\"yiv0536040916\" style=\"color: #ff9900;\">First <span id=\"yiv0536040916yui_3_16_0_1_1424881859019_2784\" class=\"yiv0536040916\">Communion<\/span> is considered one of the holiest and most important occasions in a Maronite Catholic person&#8217;s life.\u00a0 It is the first time that a person receives the Sacrament of the Holy\u00a0<span id=\"yui_3_16_0_1_1424882052108_2154\" class=\"yiv0536040916\">Eucharist<\/span>, which is the eating of consecrated bread and drinking of consecrated wine.\u00a0\u00a0 We believe these to be the body and blood of <span id=\"yiv0536040916yui_3_16_0_1_1424881859019_2786\" class=\"yiv0536040916\">Jesus Christ<\/span>.\u00a0 Our children receive their First Communion when they are in 2<sup class=\"yiv0536040916\">nd<\/sup>\u00a0grade, because this is considered the age of reason.<\/span><\/div>\n<div id=\"yiv0536040916yui_3_16_0_1_1424881859019_2789\" class=\"yiv0536040916\"><span id=\"yiv0536040916yui_3_16_0_1_1424881859019_2788\" class=\"yiv0536040916\" style=\"color: #ffcc00;\"><span style=\"color: #ff9900;\">In early fall, we embarked on an exciting year: preparing our children for their First Holy Communion!\u00a0 We learned many exciting things about our Faith, and deepened our appreciation for the Sacraments. \u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ololeaston.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/2025-1st-Communion-Class-Registration.pdf\">2025 1st Communion Class Registration<\/a><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>FIRST COMMUNION The Importance and Meaning of First\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Communion \u00a0\u201cDo this in memory of me.\u201d\u00a0 With these words ringing in our ears, we regularly celebrate Communion.\u00a0\u00a0 As we drink the cup and eat the bread, we reflect on Christ&#8217;s sacrifice and look forward to his return.\u00a0 Yet Communion is much more than this.\u00a0 Our continued &hellip;
